Februar 2026.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Schon seit zwanzig Jahren sind das ZKM | Zentrum f\u00fcr Kunst und Medien Karlsruhe und die EnBW Energie Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg AG partnerschaftlich miteinander verbunden. Beide Institutionen verbindet das Interesse an den neuesten technischen Entwicklungen und deren Auswirkungen auf Kunst, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft. Wenn sich die Gelegenheit bietet und inhaltlich Schnittmengen bestehen, kann es zu Ausstellungskooperationen kommen. Konzeptionell und organisatorisch liegt das Vorhaben unter der Federf\u00fchrung des ZKM. Bisweilen nehmen die Ausstellungen den Charakter eines Satelliten an, weil sie inhaltlich in Bezug zu einer gro\u00dfen Ausstellung im ZKM stehen und diese um einen eigenst\u00e4ndigen, bedeutsamen Aspekt erweitern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So verh\u00e4lt es sich auch bei <em>The Story That Has Just Begun. Die NFT-Sammlung des ZKM<\/em>. Die Ausstellung ist gleichsam die kleine Schwester zur aktuell im ZKM laufenden Ausstellung <em>The Story That Never Ends<\/em> (bis 20.9.2026), mit der das ZKM einen Einblick in seine Medienkunstsammlung bietet, die zu den gr\u00f6\u00dften und bedeutendsten der Welt geh\u00f6rt. Mithilfe der Blockchain-Technologie k\u00f6nnen K\u00fcnstlerinnen und K\u00fcnstler digitale Werke, die in unendlich vielen Kopien herstellbar sind, als Unikate zertifizieren. Die Logik der Verknappung und die Regeln des traditionellen Kunstmarkts werden so in die digitale Welt \u00fcbertragen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Obwohl die ersten NFTs schon 2014 entstanden, nahm die breite \u00d6ffentlichkeit erst 2021 Notiz von dieser neuen Kunstrichtung, als solche digital zertifizierten Bilder f\u00fcr mehrere Millionen Dollar versteigert wurden. Bereits Ende 2017 erwarb das ZKM eine Reihe von NFTs und geh\u00f6rt damit weltweit zu den ersten Institutionen, die CryptoArt in ihre Sammlung aufnahmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nachdem NFTs bis vor kurzem als Revolution in der Kunstwelt gefeiert wurden, hat sich der Hype mittlerweile weitgehend gelegt. Trotzdem ist es interessant, sich mit diesem Ph\u00e4nomen in der Kunstproduktion auseinanderzusetzen. <em>The Story That Has Just Begun<\/em> untersucht die k\u00fcnstlerische Relevanz von NFTs auch jenseits \u00f6konomischer Diskurse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Ausstellung reicht von fr\u00fchen ikonischen NFT-Arbeiten wie den CryptoPunks (2017) von Larva Labs bis hin zu j\u00fcngst entstandenen Werken, die mit Time-Lock-Protokollen experimentieren, einer Technik, mit der man etwa den Zugang zu einem NFT zeitlich begrenzen oder verz\u00f6gern kann. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei insgesamt auf On-Chain-NFTs, algorithmisch generierten digitalen Werken, bei denen nicht nur der Besitznachweis, sondern auch das Werk selbst als Computercode direkt in der Blockchain gespeichert wird.
